Many of the local hospitals that run VistA call their local computer support department the Information Resource Management service.
Typically, these departments have:
- Personal Computer Operating System specialists
- Hardware repair specialists
- Computer Programming Staff
- Project Managers
- Task Managers
- Clinical Application Coordinators
Generally, an IRM service will not have any Automated Data Processing Application Coordinators (ADPACs). Most commonly, the ADPAC's primary responsibility is to the service that they work with, and thus they are actually a member of that service.
