I'm like a mouse making a nest -- I gather a piece of straw here, a bit of hair there, and chew up a bit of old newspaper when needed. (Only after the nest is finished can I entice Mrs. Mouse to come and start creating some mouseketeers.)
Using Ignacio's Astronaut installer(s), I have VistA (both WorldVistA and OpenVistA) running on every platform and combination imaginable. Installing it is only the start, though. Actually using VistA is a whole different ball of wax.
So this is my sandbox to figure how to use the system in a way that is standardized on both WorldVistA and OpenVistA. Take it with a grain of salt -- this page constantly changes.
My base configuration is an OpenVista server with both Astronaut CPRS clients and the OpenVistA-CIS clients installed. I run everything from the Astronaut shortcuts (including OpenVistA-CIS). (I use a Windows environment to run the clients, but since I am primarily a Linux enthusiast, I am doing so from a VirtualBox virtual machine on a Kubuntu host, with a Windows guest OS running within the virtual machine. All clients are installed in this virtual machine).
I also have a WorldVistA server installed, as well, however, so that I can test compatibility. My Astronaut CPRS clients can switch between the OpenVistA server and the WorldVistA server fairly easily (but the OpenVistA-CIS clioent can only use the OpenVistA server).
